Wateropleidingen and Sensileau have launched the updated Sensileau Academy course on online sensor technology. In this course, which consists of two sessions, you will learn everything about online water quality sensors, their principles, and their applications in the water sector. The course is designed for professionals in the water sector who want to learn more about the operation and application of sensors. Whether you are new to the industry or have extensive experience and wish to expand your knowledge, this course offers valuable insights.

In the water sector, we are increasingly using online sensor technology, both to assess the effectiveness of processes and to optimise process control. Through sensing, water quality can be continuously monitored, and control can be adjusted to the actual behavior of a system. It is essential to choose sensors that are specifically tailored to the desired goal.

During this course, you will learn the basic principles of online sensor technology. We explain how the most common sensors work, where they can be used, and the advantages and disadvantages of the various techniques.

After completing this course, you will be able to apply sensor technology in daily practice, knowing which technique best fits your goal.

Introduction to online sensing;
Online sensing in the water sector;
Ion-selective electrodes;
Optical sensors;
Colorimetric sensors;
Biosensors;
Early warning systems;
Maintenance and quality assurance.

In addition to theoretical background knowledge, the application of each sensor technology is illustrated with examples from the daily practice of drinking water production, wastewater treatment, and surface water monitoring. During the course, we offer you the chance to see some sensors partially in operation. Furthermore, you will have ample opportunity to ask questions and exchange practical experiences.

De watersector maakt steeds vaker gebruik van online sensoring, zowel om de effectiviteit van processen te beoordelen als om de processturing te optimaliseren. Door middel van sensoring kan de waterkwaliteit voortdurend gemonitord worden en kan de sturing aangepast worden aan het actuele gedrag van een systeem. Het is daarbij essentieel om sensoren te kiezen die specifiek zijn afgestemd op het gewenste doel.

Tijdens deze cursus leer je de basisprincipes van de online sensortechnologie. We leggen uit hoe de meest gangbare sensoreren werken, waar ze kunnen worden ingezet en welke voor- en nadelen de afzonderlijke technieken hebben.

Na het afronden van deze cursus ben je in staat om sensortechnologie in de dagelijkse praktijk toe te passen, waarbij je weet welke techniek het beste past bij jouw doel.

Tijdens de cursus bieden we je de kans om enkele sensoren deels in werking te zien. Verder krijg je voldoende gelegenheid voor het stellen van vragen en het uitwisselen van praktijkervaringen.
